LEAGUE SCHEDULE
GAMES START JULY 14TH

HoopTech 4v4 Summer Shootout League
Our goal is to provide a fun, competitive, and fast-paced environment that promotes player development, sportsmanship, and a great experience for everyone involved.
Game Format
- Games are played 4-on-4.
- Games use a 20-minute running clock.
- There is no halftime.
- The clock stops only for:
- Team timeouts
- Court Monitor injury timeouts
- Court Monitor discretion during the final minute, when necessary
Scoring
Field Goals
- Shots made inside the 3-point line are worth 2 points.
- Shots made behind the 3-point line are worth 3 points.
Shooting Fouls
One free throw will be awarded for all shooting fouls.
- If the free throw is made after a foul on a 2-point attempt, 2 points are awarded.
- If the free throw is made after a foul on a 3-point attempt, 3 points are awarded.
- If the free throw is missed, no points are awarded.
- There are no rebounding opportunities on free throws.
Timeouts
- Each team receives two 30-second timeouts per game.
- Unused timeouts do not carry over.
Defense
- Man-to-man defense is required.
- Zone defenses are not permitted.
- Court Monitors may issue a warning for an illegal defense before assessing a technical foul.
Fouls
- A player fouls out after 5 personal fouls.
- A team enters the bonus on its 10th team foul.
Bonus Free Throws
- One free throw will be awarded.
- The free throw is worth 2 points if made.
- There is no rebounding opportunity on a bonus free throw.
Technical Fouls
A technical foul results in:
- One free throw worth 2 points
- Possession awarded to the offended team
Unsportsmanlike conduct may also result in an ejection or suspension from future league games.
Possession
- Opening possession is determined by a coin toss.
- All held balls use the alternating-possession rule.
Out of Bounds
The ball will be inbounded from the nearest sideline or baseline to where the violation occurred.
Substitutions
Substitutions may occur during any dead ball.
Overtime
If the game is tied at the end of regulation, the first team to score 3 points wins.
Mercy Rule
If a team leads by 20 points with 2 minutes or less remaining, the game will end immediately.
Press Rule
- Teams leading by 15 or more points may not use a full-court press.
- Defensive pressure must begin in the half court.
Forfeits
- A team must have at least 3 players present to begin a game.
- A 5-minute grace period will be allowed after the scheduled game time.
- If a team cannot field three players after the grace period, the game will be recorded as a forfeit.
Player and Spectator Expectations
All players, coaches, parents, and spectators are expected to:
- Show respect to Court Monitors, opponents, teammates, and HoopTech staff.
- Display good sportsmanship at all times.
- Allow Court Monitors to manage the game without unnecessary confrontation.
- Help create a positive environment for all participants.
HoopTech reserves the right to remove any player, coach, parent, or spectator whose behavior is considered inappropriate or detrimental to the league experience.
Court Monitors' Points of Emphasis
Freedom of Movement
Court Monitors will consistently call:
- Hand checking
- Holding
- Grabbing
- Impeding an offensive player without legal guarding position
Players should be allowed to move freely and showcase their skills.
Sportsmanship
Players and coaches are expected to compete with passion while showing respect for Court Monitors, opponents, teammates, and HoopTech staff.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, taunting, abusive language, or excessive arguing may result in a technical foul or ejection.
Pace of Play
Court Monitors will:
- Quickly administer inbound passes.
- Keep substitutions and timeouts efficient.
- Minimize unnecessary delays.
- Encourage teams to play with pace.
Advantage and Disadvantage Philosophy
Court Monitors will avoid calling marginal contact that does not affect the play while consistently enforcing fouls that create a clear disadvantage.
Respect for Court Monitors
Players may respectfully ask brief questions regarding a call during a dead ball.
Disrespectful behavior from players, coaches, parents, or spectators will not be tolerated.
Player Development First
While winning is important, the primary purpose of the HoopTech Summer Shootout League is player development.
We encourage:
- Unselfish play
- Great effort
- Positive communication
- Competitive intensity
- Respect for the game
Every game is an opportunity to improve.
